Frequently Asked Questions
-
What airport should I fly into? How far is Naya from the airport?
The airport in Liberia, Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR), is the closest international airport. It is a 2.5 hour drive from Naya.
The international airport in San Jose, Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), is around 4.5-5 hours away.
We have a small local airport, Nosara Airport, that you can fly into from either LIR or SJO. We are about 20 minutes away from this small landing strip.

What about other food in the area?
In our neighbourhood of Playa Pelada, there is a growing number of options for food.
Just down the beach, you can find the famous La Luna restaurant, serving upscale international cuisine. Olga’s, a local place, is right next to it, should you crave local food and better prices. Down the central road running inland from Playa Pelada, you can find restaurants selling gelato, pizza, smoothies, Costa Rican food, an upscale grocery store, and a variety of retailers.
We are a 15 minute drive from the buzzy center of Playa Guiones, where you can find a rich variety of eateries and shops.

How do I get around? Do I need my own transportation?
Car rentals from international agencies (Avis, etc) are available at the international airports, as well as in the town of Nosara. It is also possible to rent an ATV or a golf cart from local agencies.
We highly recommend getting your own ride to fully enjoy what the area has to offer. If you don’t want to do this, Nosara is also full of tuktuks (motorcycle buggy taxis) that can take you wherever you would like to go.

How far is Naya from the beach?
Naya is a 5 minute jungle walk from Playa Pelada. We are as close as you can be to the ocean, with the Green Zone between us and Pelada. These Green Zones are legal measures that prohibit building 200 meters from the shoreline.
-
Do you offer breakfast? What kind of food can we expect?
We do not offer breakfast, but we are happy to arrange this for you if you would like. We ask for advance notice to make these arrangements.
We offer our guests access to our shared kitchen. We find they love to make their own breakfast and other meals.
When we have retreats and events, our kitchen is closed to guests. Please check our schedule to see what we have going on.

Is the tap water safe to drink?
The tap water in Nosara (and most places in Costa Rica) is potable, but the taste is not the best. For this reason, we provide filtered water free for our guests and visitors on our bar.
